Joseph Mohl Obituary

MOHL, JOSEPH, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2013 at his home. Joseph was born and raised in Bronx, New York to a large family of 3 brothers and 7 sisters in 1925. He served in the US Army in Germany as a Heavy Mortar Crewman during WWII in the 222nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd Rainbow Infantry Division. He received numerous decorations and citations, such as the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged in 1946. He moved back to New York and then to Pittsfield, MA and met the love of his life, Elizabethl, whom he later married and preceded him in death 5 years ago. Between the two of them they had 7 children, John Roark Jr (Janet), Michael Roark, Timothy Roark(Debbie), Barbara Mohl, the late Katherine Julioca, Maryann Duva (Anthony) and the late Joseph Mohl Jr. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He had worked as a carpet layer for Burdines and then owned his own business as a carpet inspector until he retired. He enjoyed many hobbies from building boats and sailboats and including building his own Ultra Light. He also loved to fly and fish. A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends on July 12th at 12noon at Stanfill Funeral Home.
