Edward Schmierer Obituary

Edward Jacob Schmierer

Edward Jacob Schmierer, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, due to an unexpected heart attack. Jay was born on January 19, 1960, in Fairfield, California, at the Travis Air Force Base.
As a child, Jay grew up in various locations across the United States, spending a majority of his time in Maine and New Mexico before his family settled down in Washington State. He attended Interlake High School, where he met his wife of 23 years, Michele Schmierer-Eagle. They had two beautiful daughters, Christi Kunnap (28) and Brandie Schmierer (20). For many of those who knew him, you know that you could spend hours talking about his many wonderful qualities. But it might be best just to say he was a hard working, loving, and witty man, who was dedicated to his family, friends, and work. He was a Sales Representative for Courtesy Glass, in Woodinville, WA, where he worked for 15 years and was respected by his co-workers and customers. During his free time, he enjoyed four-wheeling, camping, hunting, and playing cards while surrounded by friends and family. Jay's father, Edward Schmierer and uncle, Lawrence Roberts preceded him.
He was survived by his mother, Judith A. Schmierer; brother, David Schmierer; sisters, Katherine Schultz and Geneva Carroll; the mother of his children, Michele Schmierer; and their daughters, Christi Kunnap, son-in-law, Tim Kunnap, and Brandie Schmierer; granddaughters, Arielle Kunnap and Piper Kunnap; and extended family and friends.
Please join us in the celebration of his life from 1 - 3 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Monroe Community Chapel, followed by a reception. The chapel is located at 23515 Old Owen Road, Monroe, WA 98272. www.monroechapel.org
