Elizabeth Wallace Obituary

Elizabeth Ruth (Stadler) Wallace Elizabeth Wallace, known as Bette to her family and friends, passed away December 4, 2016, at her home in Mountain View, California. Born on April 23, 1924, in Taylor Creek, Montana she moved to Alderwood Manor, Washington with her family in 1928. Bette attended Alderwood Grade School and Edmonds High School. After her graduation in 1942 she worked in Haines, Alaska and Tokyo, Japan as a civilian for the United States Army. Bette married Bryan Walker Wallace on June 24, 1950, in San Francisco, California. They made their home in Santa Clara County, California, mostly in Mountain View where they opened their store, Bryan's Drug, in 1954. They opened a second drug store in Morgan Hill, California in 1956. After Bryan's retirement as a pharmacist Bette operated a travel agency and traveled the world for many years until her retirement. Bryan proceeded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Katie Stadler, brothers, Emil and Fred Stadler, and sisters, Agnes Barnhill, Margaret Power, and Clara Bowman. Bette is survived by her sister, Dorothy Frohlich of Bellevue, Washington, brother, Karl and his wife, Marlene Stadler of Mt. Vernon, Washington, sisters-in-law, Ida Stadler, Palmer, Alaska, and Virginia Stadler, Marysville, Washington, and many nieces and nephews and their families. A private family burial took place at Holyrood Cemetery, Shoreline, Washington where she was laid to rest with her parents. Donations in Bette's memory may be made to the Lynnwood-Alderwood Manor Heritage Association, P.O. Box 2206, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
