Clinton Vandall Obituary

Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather Clinton Douglas Vandall, 78, died Wednesday February 4, 2015 at his home in Snohomish, Wash. after an extended illness. Clinton was born May 26, 1936 in Lake Andes, South Dakota to Harry and Leslie Vandall. He resided in Madison, Wisconsin until he moved to Washington in 1962. In 1955, Clint graduated from East High School where he met Sandra Spaeni. He always said the moment he saw Sandy he knew she was the one he wanted to marry. Clint and Sandy were married October 27, 1956 and have cherished 58 years of marriage. In 1958, he found his calling and he began to prepare for his life's career by attending the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He began his practice in Snohomish, Washington in 1962 where he touched the lives of many people. He retired in 2006 after 44 years of practice. He served on the Chiropractic Society of Washington Board of Directors for 12 years. Clint was very proud of his indian heratage and served on the Yanton Sioux Indian Commission. Clint was very involved in the Snohomish Community where he served on the Citizens Advisory Board of Snohomish. He was one of the founders of First Heritage Bank of Snohomish. Due to his efforts as Chairman of Fundraising for the Snohomish High School Band, the band was able to travel to Scotland, France and England for the opportunity to perform. He had a wonderful bass voice and sang with the Windjammers Barbershop Group. He also enjoyed singing in the Snohomish First Presbyterian Church Choir. His other interests include tennis, bowling, playing cards with his poker buddies, and sharing many laughs with his sons over the game of Hearts. He and his sons, along with the North Ridge neighborhood fathers and children, had many fun times playing tag football. Needless to say he and his sons have enjoyed many hours of watching the Seahawk games together. Clint is survived by his wife Sandy; his sons, Jeff (Cheryl), Jon (Adrienne), Jamie (significant other Christy Nelson), Clinton Jr. "Rusty" (Jennifer); eight granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, sister Marilyn Dorr and many members of his extended family that he loved dearly. Special mention to many long time friends he considered family. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry, mother Leslie; brother, Roger Vandall; and niece, Mary Kay Frazier-Smith. A memorial service will be held on February 21, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Snohomish First Presbyterian Church located at 1306 Lake View Ave, Snohomish. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Evergreen Hospice or Snohomish First Presbyterian Church. The Vandall Family extends their heart felt thanks to family, friends and the loving care of Evergreen Hospice as we mourn the loss of our loved one.
