Obituary of Clifford D. Vandall
July 11, 1942 - October 14, 2025
Clifford D. Vandall. Age 83 of Woodhaven.
Beloved husband of Judith. Loving father of Jason (Jennifer), Joel and Jon (Teresa). Dearest papa of Mary and Matthew. Dear brother in law of Joanne (Walt) Kerszulis, John Sabo, Bill Sabo, Mike (Liz) Sabo and Sue (Craig) Greeley. Nephew of June Ann Howington and Gladys Sexton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Ruth; and his father and mother in law, John and Frances Sabo.
Memorial contributions are greatly appreciated to Michigan Parkinson Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project.
Cliff, born on July 11, 1942, in Fitzpatrick, West Virginia, to Julius Clifford Vandall and Ruth Ann Mills, grew up in Detroit. Shortly after serving in the U.S. Army, he met his wife, Judy, and they were married on January 30, 1970. In February 1977, they moved to Woodhaven. Cliff's life was filled with joy when his three boys, Jason, Joel, and Jon were born. His family was the most cherished part of his life.
Cliff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son-in-law (to John and Francis Sabo). He was an avid bowler and enjoyed vacations to the beach, where he would often take morning walks and listen to the crashing waves. Cliff also enjoyed his mornings on the patio, sipping coffee and solving newspaper crossword puzzles. He was a problem-solver and often took on projects around the house.
Cliff's love for his grandchildren was evident in his unwavering attendance at their sporting events, dance recitals, and school functions.
Cliff would want to be remembered for his love for his wife, Judy, his sons, Jason (Jenn), Joel (Staci), and Jon (Teresa), and for his remarkable grandfatherly role to Mary and Matthew. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
