Joseph Costa Obituary

Joseph R. Costa III, 57, died September 15th, 2016 of a heart attack in South Carolina. Born in Fall River, son of Rose T. Costa of Tiverton, RI and of the late Joseph R. Costa, Jr. Besides his mother he leaves a son Joseph R. Costa IV and his girlfriend Michelle Desrosiers, Two granddaughters; Casey and Hope Costa, his significant other of 21 years Karen Copeland and her grandchildren; Caylee Sue Pyle and Keegan Cole Copeland, five siblings; Alan Costa (wife Ruth), Stephen Costa (wife Colleen), Wayne Costa (wife Gail), Rosemary Catabia (husband Kevin), Cheryl Wilkinson (husband William). He was the brother of the late Ronald Costa (wife Diane). He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. A Mass will be offered at St. Dominic Parish, 1277 Grand Army Highway, Swansea, Ma on October 30th at 11:00 a.m.

I first met Joey about 40 years ago, being a little younger I always looked up to him and he treated me as well as many others like a little brother.It seemed like everyone from the Brayton Ave. area knew him and I never heard anyone say a bad thing about him. He was always there to lend a helping hand or to slap someone if they messed with someone from the neighborhood, Lol !! One of the nicest guys I've had the priveledge of knowing. My thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends.... R.I.P. Joey

Joey was a kind, loving and respectful man who could put anyone at ease. He had a knack for storytelling like no other. I will miss his smile and laughter most and of course our yearly cribbage tournaments. ""Who's the best cribbage player ever" oK Joe you. To Karen and family I am very sorry for your loss. Remember he will be watching over you always. Will always have a place in my heart.
