Leonce Arceneaux Obituary
Leonce "Preston" Joseph Arceneaux Jr., 76, a native and resident of Bayou Blue, died Thursday, April 28, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. Religious services will be at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, with burial at Rogers Cemetery in Houma.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Marie Bourg Arceneaux; his sons, Leonce "Bubba" Arceneaux II and wife, Samantha, Christopher "Chris" J. Vincent and wife, Rachel, and John P. Burson and wife, Judy; his daughters, Linda A. Stearns and husband, Michael, Jacky Cormack, Judy B. Viteaux and husband, Jimmy, Debbie Malbrough and husband, James, Amanda Porche and husband, Donnie, Andea Jolley and husband, Steve, and Patricia Sorensen; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Audrey Saucier and husband, Nary, of Newton, Miss., Loretta Arning and husband, Arthur, of Bellville, Texas; Reggie Arceneaux of Houma, Larry Arceneaux of Lafayette, Evelyn Pearce and husband, Elmer, of Napoleonville, Lois Lovell and husband, Glynn, of Houma, and Diane Arning and husband, Elwood, of Bellville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Cunningham Arceneaux; his parents, Leonce Joseph Sr. and Clara Moore Arceneaux; four brothers, Rodney Joseph and three still births; two sisters, Mary and Margurite Arceneaux; two nieces, Ellen Faye Robichaux and Saundra Dee Pearce; three sisters-in-law; two sons-in-law, Lloyd Sorensen and Mark Cormack; and one grandchild, Jason Hendricks.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
