Robert Iappini Obituary

Robert Iappini
1940-2016
Robert Iappini of Houston passed away January 16, 2016. He was 75 years old.
Born to Eva and Germano Iappini on December 12, 1940, Robert grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts. He was drafted into the US Army in 1963 where he was recognized as a master chessplayer. Shortly after honorable discharge, he met his beloved, Lilly Taylor Monsalvo, whom he wed on December 22, 1969.
Robert followed his Texas bride back home. There he received his Master's from Texas A&M University and held a rewarding career in Global Information Services for Texaco. Robert could often be found with his nose buried in a good book while listening to his good time oldies. He also loved toiling in his garden. But mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and we enjoyed spending time with him.
Robert was preceded in death by both parents and faithful pup, Bear. He is survived by his wife, Lilly; their daughters: Lillie Garcia, husband Derek and sons Derek and Dillon, Laura Case and husband David, and Rebecca Acosta, husband Jack and daughter Penelope; his siblings: Beatrice Devlin, Alfred Iappini, Marcia Pavluvcik, Charles Iappini, Susan Iappini, and Gerald Iappini; as well as many other family and friends.
Services will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas on Thursday, January 21st, at 12:30 pm.

Lilly, I am sorry to hear about the passing of Bob. He was a great guy. I worked with him for many years and enjoy every minute. He was a pleasure to work with. I learned a lot from Bob. A real mentor on the job. Always willing to help. He will be missed.

Bob was one of the first people I worked with when coming to Texaco from Getty. He started tooling through control blocks, and I thought that I could not do that so Texaco would never keep me. Over the years, I learned loads from him. Sadly, I will miss his funeral as I will be in Tulsa helping my dad. Lillly, all my love and prays. The Lilly Bob gave me from his garden is still alive and well in mine.

To the Iappini Family,
I'm so sorry on your loss and sending prayers!
I worked on the same floor as Bob for many years at Texaco. I remember Bob well. We all worked in the same department of Texaco. Those were fun times.

Again, I'm so sorry!
