Colleen Davis

June 28, 2004

First, please let me send my condolences to the family of Cindy Davis in this time of sorrow.

You see I met Cindy through a Dear friend Susan. They had a friendship like no other but they always included me like one of the group.

I'll never forget my 30th. Birthday when Cindy and Susan surprised me. Cindy had put together this wonderful presentation of me and told me all the neatest things about the person I am and my life.

Cindy's smile shined like no other.... Her kind words and the way she treated everyone is irreplaceable.

I still fill your presence and your still working your magic!

Your friend, Colleen

What an emptiness I feel, since you've gone to a better place- and this happened when I was gone for 3 wks. in fact the day I left!!! You were so near & so dear, & always will be!! We had many great memories!! A real bond & true friendship-I will miss our in depth visits, the laughter, the stopping by, the phone ringing & deciding who needs what? Eulogy by Paula Dalton & Jacki Keith:

Jacki:

As many of you know, Cindy and I have been friends for a long time. For those of you who don't, this November it will be 31 years since we met at Robert E. Lee High School here in Houston. Eight years later, we met Paula and the three of us have been together ever since. People say if you have one good friend in life, you should consider yourself blessed. The three of us have at least two. We may not have had it all together, but together we had it all.

Cindy's family meant the world to her. She always said her family put the fun in dysfunctional. When her family was around her, she glowed, no matter what else was going on in her life. No-one could make her beam with pride like her daughter, Carie, or car-bear as she always called her.

Paula:

You know the old saying, "you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family"? Well 22 some odd years ago Cindy, Jacki and myself proved that to be a falsehood when we created the Sisterhood, better known as the "Sisters of Mercy" which carried the motto: You Don't Mess(Ha) With The Sisters. During these years many stories were spawned but only a few will be shared with you today. At one time in my life when things were very dim I called Cindy crying and she asked me two questions: do you need any money; and do you need me there? I told her I don't need money but I will always need you. That's just the way she was. I don't think the word no was in her vocabulary and I dare to say that anyone here today ever asked anything of Cindy that was denied.

When Cindy, Jacki and I all lived together my mother asked how it was going and I said Great! - Jacki cooks, I clean and Cindy fluffs. She asked, why does Cindy get away with only fluffing? I said well Cindy has the company credit card! Paul, we appreciate all the dinners and drinks you provided for us girls. And by the way, we had a lot of fun with that card. You see, it was International Supply at that time and the card read, "INTL SPY",which raised alot of brows thinking surely these girls can't be International Spies! Thanks Paul.

Jacki:

As you can imagine, in 31 years we went through a lot of men. We were all laughing on Saturday and decided there wasn't enough room here for all the exes. There were good ones, bad ones and a lot of in-between ones, but Michael, no-one ever loved her the way you did. You treated Cindy like every good woman deserves to be treated - like a Princess. Words cannot express how comforting that is. If ever a woman deserved it, Cindy did.

Paula:

In closing, not only did Cindy love everyone, everyone loved her. We will miss our friend /our sister. Our comfort is knowing she will always be in our hearts and know that she is hovering over Ruidoso with her BIG FLUFFY wings saying, Ha, I beat you here!! As always, when we signed off the phone, Love ya, talk to you later.

Talk to you soon, Love P
