Courtney Ledbetter Obituary

Courtney Bean
Ledbetter was the life of the party and brought joy, laughter and happiness to all who knew her. She passed away February 23, 2014, joining her mother in heaven. A native Houstonian, she was born August 1, 1980 to Steve and Colleen Bean. Courtney graduated from Langham Creek High School and spent much of her career in the golf industry, most recently at Houston Oaks and The Woodlands Country Clubs.
Courtney was spontaneous and a romantic. She found love in Damon Ledbetter thousands of miles away and moved to Hawaii so they could start a life together. They were married in Dripping Springs, Texas on September 29, 2012 and built their home in Houston.
Courtney would brighten your day with her charm and infectious spirit. And boy could she make you laugh! She never knew a stranger and was a master at making light of uncomfortable situations. She was passionate about her family and friends, music, all things Hawaii, golf, loved a good bottle of wine and never shied away from a goofy photo op.
Courtney was everyone's sweetheart, truly one of a kind. Her lifelong memories will be instilled in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
She is survived by her husband, Damon Ledbetter, father, Steve Bean, brothers Derek and Scott Bean, sister-in-law Jennifer Andrassy Bean, nieces and nephew Skylar, Logan and Gage Bean, mother-in-law Patti Farris-Cook, her husband Jo, and brother-in-law Slade Farris. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
Courtney was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Colleen Bean, her paternal grandparents, Martha and Ted Bean and her maternal grandparents, Isabelle and Robert Bell.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 2nd at Houston Oaks Country Club at 3:00 p.m. located at 22602 Hegar Road, Hockley, Texas 77447 (713) 888-0000. Guests are encouraged to wear cowboy boots.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation of remembrance to be sent to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Courtney & her family since we were babies. Back then, she & Jessie were my sisters & closest friends. Every time I think of Courtney, I think of running around her house or playing in the pool, always having fun & laughing hysterically. That unmistakable laugh was so wonderful & infectious, I smile just thinking about it. One of my favorite memories is the time we dressed up in our mother's clothes & makeup. We were so young then & life was full of possibilities. You were such an amazing person, Courtney. No one could light up a room the way you did. You treated everyone as if they were your closest friend; no one was a stranger to you. Losing you is truly a tragedy. You were such a big part of my life, Beaner & I am so thankful for it. I only regret we didn't get the chance to hang out one more time & even though it's been so long, you were always in my heart. You left this world far too soon, but I take great comfort in knowing Colleen is there to meet you. You are my oldest friend, Courtney & I will never forget you.

Dave & I send our thoughts and prayers to all of the Bean family. We watched the Bean kids and the Elliot kids grow up while living in Deerfield Village. Courtney was beautiful even as a child! When she started selling Girl Scot cookies, she rang our doorbell and Dave must have bought a dozen boxes. So when it was time to deliver the cookies, she asked her mom to please drive her to Uncle Nerds house. Of course, Collene scolded her for calling Mr. Nicholson "Nerd". Poor child didn't know is name because all the neighborhood children called him Uncle Nerd. Our hearts ache for all of you, but our good Lord will send the Comforter to be with you. Love & prayers, Dave & Neva

Courtney's light shined very bright on our Sequoia
Golf team. We loved having her and she was a marvelous fit and such a wonderful co-worker and friend. It didn't take long to get to know her and feel her positive impact. While we will all miss her very much, she is home now. Safe and sound. With her mother whom she adored and missed greatly. A new birth for her.

I am at a loss for words, am shocked and greatly saddened to hear Courtney is no longer with us. I had the pleasure of working with her a few years ago. I truly enjoyed her positive nature; she was hardly ever without a smile. May all those who loved her keep her close to your hearts through your memories of shared stores & pictures. The world has truly lost a fantastic person. We'll miss you Courtney, Rest in Peace.

I met Courtney through her niece,Logan, when I had Logan in my preschool classes. It was such a pleasure to have her drop into class to eat lunch with Logan or pick her up at the end of the day. She was so obviously crazy about that kiddo and vice versa. I'm sure Logan, as well as Gage and Skylar, will carry amazing memories of her for the rest of their lives!

Growing up in Deerfield we always knew the Bean's but they were all a little older or younger than me, so I was never close to Courtney. But driving by their house on the way to the pool you could always tell when Scott and Derek or Courtney were home and you'd see them outside together or with their parents and knew they were a lucky bunch to have each other. From the Waugh family to yours, we have you in our thoughts.
