Patricia Carr Obituary

PATRICIA CARR was welcomed home into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during the early morning hours of September 25th. To anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, she was magic personified. Beautiful both inside and out, Patricia was the true definition of a lady. She was steadfast in her love for her family and unwavering in her earthly mission as a Christian warrior. Patricia understood the importance of treasuring and nurturing life's intangible gifts. She embraced moments of happiness as well as heartache with total class, dignity and grace. To her family, she was the rock that kept them grounded and the glue that held them together. Utter selflessness and dedication to her family, she set the bar high and left behind a priceless example. In her youth, Patricia was a Robert E. Lee Baytown Brigadier where she and best friend Carolyn Wind were known as "the two cool kitties from Baytown City." She attended college at the University of Houston, and married football star Paul H. Carr. Shortly after becoming Mrs. Carr, she and her family moved to San Jose, California where her husband played pro-ball for the San Francisco 49ers. After residing in California for 11 years, they returned to Houston, Texas. Back in Texas, Pat permanently resided in the Cy-Fair area. Relentless in her profession of sales at Production Facilities Equipment Company, she never took no for an answer. She was employed by her two sons in sales and worked until being hospitalized. Prior to her sales position she worked for Tenneco Oil. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents William E. and Ada Mae Yeager-Harlan and her son Matthew Carr. She is survived by her brother William E. Harlan and wife Delia, brother Ronald Harlan and wife Dorothy; her children, Paul Carr III and wife Deborah, Lance Carr and Candis Carr; her grandchildren, Livia Carran and husband Brad, Heath Beeman, Sky Carr and wife Mary Beth, Shannon Butterfras and husband Nolan, Jacob Carr and wife Meredith, Harlan Carr, Kyle Carr, Jordan Carr, Ainsley Carr and Colette Carr-Biondi; great grandchildren, Cassidy Reagan, Lily Reagan, Ava Jean Carran, Julianne Carr, Jorgia Carr, Haylie Carr and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at http://cms.komen.org/komen/Donations/index.htm. Visitation will be held from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, 9-28-08 and Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 9-29-08, at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champions Forest Drive, Spring, TX 77379.

Dear Carr Family,

Words can not express how sorry I was to hear of Pat's passing...she was one of the dearest, sweetest, caring, and lovely women I have ever had the pleasure to know. She certainly represented beauty in its truest form. I know she will be missed by many, as she was loved by all who crossed her path. She is with the Father now, smiling down on all of you...

My deepest sympathies...

To the Carr Family:
Your Pat was such a joy to be around and oh, how she loved her family, each and every one of you!! Pat and I worked at Tenneco Oil together and just reconnected 3-4 years ago. It was such a pleasure to know her! The girls and I will miss her at our annual JL shopping trip in November, but I know she will be watching. God Bless!

To the Carr family: What a beautiful obituary for a beautiful woman. I first met your mother through her dear friend, my cousin Pat Dickey. Theirs has been a true friendship - sharing the good and bad times; always there for each other. I know that my Pat is devastated at this loss.

As you know so well, your mother was gracious, kind and gentle. She always greeted me and others with a huge smile and lots of laughter.

Such a warrior! She fought her health battles valiantly and with dignity. She chose her timing - I understand that she asked for and got three more days; days to say goodbye and to prepare.

Pat was the epitome of a Southern Belle - gracious, lovely and loving. May she indeed rest in peace.

Pat was always a gracious elegant person. Her welcoming ways put everyone at ease. She was a great friend and we will miss her.

Her fight against against her illness was an inspiration to us all. She may be gone but she won't be forgotten

Paul & Debbie & Family,

My thoughts & prayers are with you at this time. Paul, I remember your Mother very well. What a beautiful lady and I knew you were so proud of her. She was the one substitute teacher at Cy-Fair that I was always so thrilled to see when I would walk into my classes.
You are in my prayers.

My sweet, sweet Pat,
So many thoughts, memories and lessons! Our fun, fab trip to Denver, the parties with our Tenneco family, & just simply sharing stories about your grandchildren asking you to pray with them. I admired you for facing your darkest moments by going to grief recovery and growing strong enough to counsel others. I admired you for facing cruel illness with never a complaint and always a smile for us. I am blessed to know you.
Angels in Heaven, look over our dear friend Pat; she's the one wearing high heels.
love,
