I was saddened to hear about Jerry. My Dad grew up with him in Berne and were close friends. I remember him taking my Dad and I to my first state finals at Hinkle in 1962. I was also there when Jerry was inducted into the Indiana basketball hall of fame.

I was saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. He was our last link to Great-Aunt Lena and Great-Uncle Cliff. As a child I adored both of them. I didn't know Jerry as well but enjoyed talking with Ruth and Jerry each time I saw them.
Sympathies from the Dan Morand family, Don Moore, David Johnson, John Moore, Kris Morand-Wealty, Ginny Moore-Tielke, and Bob Morand.

We have fond memories of sitting with Jerry and Ruth on Sunday morning services at Vanderbuilt Presbyterian and at coffee in the fellowship hall. Jerry was always entertaining and we will miss humor. He was much appreciated and will be greatly missed.

What a kind man Jerry Steiner was. He was my teacher in the classroom part of Driver's Ed at Shortridge, and I can still remember learning how to change a tire. I also worked in the Athletic Office my senior year, and I loved hearing all the great stories about Butler Basketball from Mr. Steiner and Mr. Harding. Sharon (Crockett) Mutter, Class of 1960.

I too remember having Mr. Steiner at Shortridge, Class of 1960. I have forgotten whether I had him for health or classroom for drivers ed. My favorite memory was his calm manner on the basketball sidelines, especially trying to get Coach Reynolds settled down so there wouldn't have a technical called on him.

Jerry was a great guy and friend to me when I first started teaching at Shortridge. He always had a joke to share or a great story.
