Robert Mull Obituary

Robert Clark Mull 81, Indianapolis, died Sunday, December 24, 2006. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on March 27, 1925 to the late Grace Edith and Ellis Clark Mull. Robert graduated from Greenfield High School. The driving force of his life was art, which he commercialized by attending the Chicago School of Art and Photography, Elmer Taflinger Studio and the Raymond Reynolds Graphics classes. He was employed as a photographer by Kindred Studio and then as a sign painter by Naegele Outdoor Advertising, before opening his own shop as Mull Sign Company. He was a member of Pentalpha Lodge No. 564 and The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Robert married Betty Hawkins of Philadelphia, Indiana on January 17, 1951, which ended in divorce. On July 22, 1962, he married Carol Spreen Thompson of Indianapolis, who survives him. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jane Christensen of Belfair, Washington and Mrs. Ann Norris of West Palm Beach, Florida: three nieces, Mrs. Jane Adams, Mrs. Leslie Krueger, Mrs. Ann Underwood; three nephews, Mr. Michael Norris, Mr. David Norris, Mr. Calvin Christensen; eleven great nieces and nephew. A memorial service for family and friends is being planned with burial in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana. The Rev. James Beckley will officiate. Arrangements by Shirley Brothers Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Museum of Art or to The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
