Kathy Anne Ellis-Inman
Of Zionsville, passed away on Jan 8, 2014. Kathy was born in Indianapolis, IN on Feb 15, 1957. Kathy was the daughter of Anna Frances (Little) and Forrest D. Ellis.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Inman; children, Abby Inman and Lily Inman, Father, step-mother, Sue Riddell-Ellis; grandmother, Jane Inman; siblings, Joyce Kaye Hubbard (Tony) of Indianapolis, Susan Ellis-Miles (Dan) of Bonita Springs, FL, and Forrest James Ellis (Amy) of McLean, VA; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and extended-family members.
Kathy lived the first 4 months of her life in Indianapolis, the next year in San Francisco, and the following two years in Homestead, FL. She moved with her parents to North Vernon, IN, in 1960 where she spent the next 9 years. She attended kindergarten and grade school in North Vernon until returning with her family to Indianapolis again in 1969. She graduated from Pike High School, Indianapolis (1975), Indiana University, Bloomington, IN (1979), and Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, IN (1982).
Subsequently she practiced law and worked for private law firms in Indianapolis, taught at North Central High School in Indianapolis for 18 years, and was working for Boone County Prosecutor's Office in the Child Support Division in Lebanon, IN, at the time of her death. This earned her "The Best Mom, Wife & Teacher in the World Award" symbolized by a one of a kind trophy, bestowed to her by her husband and daughters.
In her spare time she created Think to That LLC through which she distributed card games of her own creation. She created the game, Think to That, to bring people together which is one of the traits people love most about Kathy. She was proud of her small company.
She was also proud of the family and friends with whom she surrounded herself.
She encouraged her husband and her daughters to go after their dreams, no matter what. Talking about her family brought her so much joy and they know she loved them so much because she told them every single day. She loved her friends dearly, whether they were from her work, Trees II, Euchre Club, the '05 moms, the I Aeta Pi sorority, or the countless individuals that were touched by her quirky personality. If you were to ask her what she would say, she would say that her life turned out way better than she could have ever imagined.
Her infectious smile, never ending kindness, and ability to include all is already greatly missed.
Please help us celebrate her life on Sunday January, 12. Calling will be from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Zionsville United Methodist Church. A ceremony will commence immediately following the calling at approximately 4 p.m.

I am saddened to lose Kathy. We were great friends at Pike, and while the years and miles pulled us apart, I thought of her often. She passed before her time, and lived a fine life that touched many. I will miss her greatly. Our sympathies,

I had Mrs Ellis for Econ now four years ago but I will never forget her infectious smile and her genuine kindness. There was not one day she didn't have a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She was truly a great teacher to have. My heart goes out to her family at this time.

To Mark, Abby, Lily, Darrell & Family, Joyce, Tony & Family, Susan & Family and Jimmy & Family, although our families were closer in years past, our deepest sympathy is no less heart-felt. We all have such fond memories of our families spending time together. One of our favorite pictures of "Pinky" was taken on your boat, Darrell. We can't imagine what a tremendous loss this is for your family as well as friends, former students and the community. We know she will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Warmly, Dwight& Marisa (Whiteaker) Patterson & Family and Marilyn Whiteaker

My condolences, I used to be a student helper for her, she always very caring and a loving person. Cared more about the person than the grade, and I really enjoyed your presence and learned a lot from you. One of the best teachers I had growing up. You will be missed! Rest easy Mrs. Ellis.
