David Banta Obituary
80, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 10, 2017.
He was born May 10, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ralph and Lois Banta. David served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from John Herron School of Art; his career was in visual arts. He retired as an art director from Wm H. Block Company stores.
After retiring, David pursued watercolor painting, and was a member of the Brown County Art Guild, Hoosier Salon, Watercolor Society of Indiana, and Southside Art League. He volunteered as a docent at the Eiteljorg Museum. David was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
David is survived by sisters Janet Munro, Center Grove, Linda Banta, Southport; nieces and nephews Suzanna Annakin, Jason Munro, Christopher Munro, Melissa Sowder and Jennifer Kunkel.
A celebration of David's life will be 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation from 5:00 p.m. until the hour of service, 7602 Madison Avenue Indianapolis, IN 46227.
