Thomas M. Marling

81, of Lebanon, passed away September 14, 2017, at Homewood Health Care Campus in Lebanon. Tom was born on February 12, 1936, in Indianapolis, the son of the now late Ernest and Mary Jane (Land) Marling. He married Floria "Bea" Gann on November 18, 1956. She survives.

As a career plumber and contractor, Tom worked for RT Moore for 44 years. His RT Moore family was always cherished by him. In his spare time, Tom also enjoyed buying and remodeling houses. He was a Whitestown Fire Department volunteer firefighter for 17 years. Tom was a member of the Whitestown United Methodist Church.

Tom enjoyed working in his workshop garage, where he relaxed after work. He loved his cat Mickey, horse racing, and playing Texas Hold 'em. Tom enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with his family at the lake and at his house in Florida.

Survivors include his wife Bea Marling of Lebanon; his daughters Brenda S. Fisher of Lebanon and Linda (Doug) Lamb of Fairland; his brother Rex (Judy) Marling; his sister Nancy Marling; his grandchildren Aaron Heineman, Alec Heineman, and Brandon (Ashleigh) Fisher; his step-grandchildren Matthew Lamb and Justin (Katie) Lamb; his great-grandchildren Aleah, Masen, Aaron, Avery, and Adrian "Cash" Heineman; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his brothers Charles (Diane) Marling, Charles Pipes, Ernest Eugene Marling, and Donnie Pipes; his sisters Shirley Pipes and Diane Pipes Caffey; and his granddaughter Adria Heineman.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, September 19, 2017 for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Tom will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown. You are invited to visit the website www.strawmyerdrury.com where you may sign his online register and leave a personal message. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Humane Society of Boone County, P.O. Box 708, Lebanon, IN 46052.
