Violet "Joyce" Chasteen

Greenwood - Violet "Joyce" Harris Chasteen, age 80, of Greenwood, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was born on Thursday, May 23, 1940 in Somerset, Kentucky, to William and Dorothy Harris, both of whom precede her in death along with her daughter: Debra Egan; and brother: William Harris. Joyce graduated from Ben Davis High School, and was a member of the Ben Davis High School Alumni Association. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to travel the world and experience the animals, music and art of all cultures. She was a lover of all things and all people, especially her family. Joyce is survived by her loving husband: Earl Chasteen of Greenwood; three children: Daniel (Cecilia) Powell of Yulee, Florida, Pamela (John) Garcia of Victoria, Texas, and Katherine Hodges of Sarasota, Florida; three stepchildren; grandchildren: Robert Wise, Jessica Wise, Richard Chandler, Michael Powell, Geoffrey Egan, and Elizabeth Egan; eight great-grandchildren; and Louie the Dog. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the The Julian Center, 2011 N.
