Predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Elizabeth (McFarland) Hoffman, he is survived by his sister, Kate Hoffman Siddiqi and his brother-in-law, M. Kamil Siddiqi. Tad was my student back in about 1975, and he wrote the funniest parody of Yeats I've ever read. It was a pleasure to teach him, and I'm so sorry he died long before he should have. Rest in your lively, amusing, pleasant way, dear Tad.
