I can't believe that ornry navy guy is laid to rest. Yes, he harassed me to no end because I became a Marine!
We will love that fellow (other words come to mind!) forever and a day!
Rest in Pease.
Miss you Charlie,
Bill Volz Jr.

Dear Denise, Mike, Chuck, Dolly & the extended Volz Family,
I am so glad that I was reunited with Uncle Charlie & Denise in the past year. Uncle Charlie provided me with fatherly advice on a difficult family issue that made me feel as though I was being guided by my own father - Uncle Charlie’s brother, Eddie Volz. How sad that I could not get back to see Uncle Charlie before his passing! We always feel that there is “time’ but, unfortunately, we can be wrong. I am blessed to be in touch with Denise, though, and to hopefully be reconnected with my cousins & extended family in the near future.
Chuck, Dolly – I look forward to seeing you when my husband & I make a trip back East. Hopefully, that trip will be possible this summer but, if not, soon!
In the meantime, please accept our love & condolences. Even though there is sadness, we must remember the good times & the legacy of such a wonderful man.
With love,
Dan McFadden,PFD (Ret.)

Charlie was a great friend and hard worker. While I worked in Philadelphia's Fire Prevention Division I would often visit Charlie at Nazareth Hospital. We would conduct fire drills and enjoy lunch together. He always had great stories of his time in the fire department and was a great mentor for me as I began my career in the fire service. I am so glad I had the opportunity to know him. He will be missed by all who knew his big smile great sense of humor. My condolences to his family.

Denise,
Pete and I want you to know that we are thinking of you and your family! I was telling Pete of all the fond memories I have or your father visiting Pennsylvania Hospital's Accounting Department. He never came empty handed. He always brought his home-made chocolate with him!!
