KATHLEEN GALLAGHER Obituary

Age 62, of Chestnut Hill became an angel peacefully the morning of September 28, 2020 at home with her family as the bright sun opened the grey clouds. With the inspiration and care that she applied brilliant colors to her many canvasses, Kathleen touched all she met with her love, grace, and sense of humor. Born in Pittsburgh to Howard I. and Tallu F. Scott, Kathleen received a BFA in 1980 from Moore College of Art and an MFA in 1982 from Tyler School of Art. Survived by her husband Patrick Gallagher, sons Patrick and Garrett, her siblings Howard Scott, Sarah Tallu Schuyler and Grant Scott. Funeral and interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathleen's memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 3925 Chestnut St., Phila., PA 19104. (JACOB F. RUTH)

Remembering Kathleen, today and always

TRAMONTINA family.

Kathleen had such a beautiful spirit about her! She greeted everyone with a smile, and always inquired about the children she taught at St. Gens. Our boys were friends, and we are all saddened by this great loss.

Kathleen was my daughters’ Art Teacher at St Gen’s in Flourtown, as she was with her sons. As an Art Teacher myself, I always commented how fortunate they were to have a REAL ARTIST as an Art Teacher. I truly honored and respected her talent as a painter, and her gift as a teacher as well.
The painting that hangs above my desk is one that Kathleen painted and donated to the St Gen. fashion show auction. I put a lot of tickets in that basket, but did not win. My fortune was that the person who did win it was fine with me purchasing it from them. And when Kathleen came to our home and saw it hanging in our living-room, she cutely commented how nice it was that I decorated my room around her painting. Funny enough, my living-room was so very much in need of the perfect picture to hang on the wall, and when I saw this one by Rachel’s Art Teacher, well, it ‘had to be’.
Summers at Flourtown Country Club have us occasions to chat and get to know more about each other. My heart is so sad right now, just thinking about the loss of a wonderful person in this world, at this time. I use to walk past an art gallery in Chestnut Hill and see her gorgeous painting of Pink Roses on the White Picket Fence...and dream.
I can picture Kathleen in her forever home, surrounded by beautiful flowers always, and accepting the love and prayers that are being offered up to her by all of her family and friends.
Love and dearest condolences to all who knew and loved her.

Dear Pat, Garret and Patrick, we are so sad to learn of Kathleen’s passing. She was a wonderful lady, filled with so much positivity and enthusiasm for all the kids at St Gens when she taught art classes there. She was a wonderful influence on both our children. We know her death has caused a void in your lives and many others that can’t be filled. May your Memories of her smile, and her talents help to bridge that emptiness. We are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers, Muffin and Donald Hughes

West Abington Avenue would look so different if it was not for the keen eye extraordinaire artist Kathleen Gallagher > check out all the splendid sun shading Maple trees + Kathleen's tremendous walkway around her home + all the people Kathleen sent to Jeklyll Island. We have been the witnesses of true love, care, compassion plus the glowing peace that shined from Gallagher home as the family watched movies together/read together/played music/stayed close by Kathleen. Pat, Pat, Jr and Garrett, you three are amazing loving humans. Kathleen, we are missing you! Thanks for Jekyll Island and all the life you gave to us and your family and your friends, xo Donnie and Betty Brady xo "admiration" is our word to you Kathleen xoxoxoxo
