Charles Panias Obituary
1931 - 2021
Lynn, MA - Charles Panias, age 89 and lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 following complications from Covid-19. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (McCarthy) Panias with whom he shared over 66 years of marriage and predeceased him in 2018. Born in Lynn on June 21, 1931 he was the son of the late Anastasious and Sophie (Kyriakidou) Panias.
Charlie was the devoted father of Ernie Panias and his wife Evelyn of Lynn, Susan Mulloy and her husband Jerry of Middleton and Dianna Chakoutis and her late husband Nick of Lynn. He also leaves behind his beloved twin sister Catherine Decoulos of Peabody. He was also the brother of the late Cynthia Panias, Helen Panias and Helen Dallas.
Charlie adored spending time with his 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was excited to welcome his 18th great grandchild. He also leaves behind a dear friend Anne Harrington of Braintree and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie graduated from Lynn Classical in 1949, was a US Navy Veteran and was a member or the Philanthropic Lodge. He was the head machinist at the Boston Globe until his retirement in 1990 and was also a member of the Boston Typographical Union, Local 13. After his retirement he worked part time as a GLSS driver. Charlie loved to travel and take day trips to the casino.
Service Information: A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Pine Grove Cemetery, 145 Boston St., Lynn at 11a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and are asked to meet inside the Main Gate (Boston St. Entrance) of the cemetery at 10:45a.m. Everyone in attendance is required to adhere to the guidelines of the CDC, the State of Massachusetts and the Local Board of Health and are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Arrangements entrusted to SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOMES, LYNN. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie's memory may be made to Care Dimensions Hospice at www.caredimensions.org Directions and online guestbook for family and friends to offer condolences at www.solimine.com

Mr. Panias,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USN during the Cold War. Millions of Americans slept safe at night because you and your fellow Servicemen stood ready to defend our Country. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
