JOHN L. "JACK"
DUBOIS, JR.
Feb. 2, 1919- Aug. 29, 2005
Son of a pioneer family and longtime resident of El Centro, John L. "Jack" DuBois Jr. passed away August 29, 2005.
Born February 2, 1919 in El Centro, he attended Silsbee School and graduated from Central Union High School and Cal-Poly San Luis Obispo. On December 6, 1941 he married Ruth Riddle DuBois in El Centro. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Jack was a farmer and worked in agri-business. He also participated in many church, community and civic activities. Following retirement Jack and Ruth lived in Julian and San Diego before returning to El Centro in 2004.
Private family services will be held in accordance with his wishes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Isabelle O. DuBois.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jack is survived by his wife Ruth; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Kent Cheeseborough of Tulare, Diane and Marc McClain of El Centro, Marianne and Chris Burton of Ramona; son and daughter-in-law Rick and Margie DuBois of El Centro; grandchildren Biran Cheeseborough of Santa Rosa, Carin and David Lake of Visalia, Derik Cheeseborough of Fresno, Mike and Marci McClain Hulsey of El Centro, Todd and Olivia McClain of El Centro, Lindsay DuBois of Holtville and Devon DuBois of Holtville and Erika Burton of Ramona. He is also survived by great-grandsons Hayden Hulsey and Chase McClain; brothers William I. DuBois of El Centro and Andrew O. DuBois of Alameda, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Valley Christian Church of El Centro Building Fund.
