Kimberly J. McDole

Lafayette - Kimberly J. McDole, 61, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born December 1, 1956, at Ft. Lewis in Washington State, to Noreen Downes of San Antonio, TX and the late Clyde Massey also of Texas.

Kimberly graduated from Texas A&M University in 1989, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, received her Master's Degree of Science in Nutrition, and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Kimberly was a Veterinarian and owned and operated Mobile Veterinary Service of Lafayette & Tippecanoe.

She was a member of Clarks Hill Christian Church and enjoyed animals, helping others, crocheting, singing, playing musical instruments, and writing short stories and poetry.

Kimberly also enjoyed living in the country and being outdoors. Above all she loved being a mother, grandmother and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons Jake E. (fiancé Jerri) McDole of Frankfort, Daniel A. McDole of Lafayette, and grandsons Wyatt and Weston McDole. Also surviving is her mother Noreen Cox of San Antonio, TX, her siblings Page Massey of San Antonio, TX, Kenneth (Annette) Massey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and her former husband Shane McDole of Clarks Hill, IN.

Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Massey and step father Charlie Cox.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm on Saturday, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Nick Lawrence officiating. You may sign the guest book, leave memories and photos at www.soller-baker.com

I was extremely saddened to hear of Dr. McDole's accident then of her passing. I had just met her about two weeks before the accident. She helped us put our beloved dog to sleep. She was so kind and listened to all of our needs during that hard time. May she rest in peace. Eric & Juan

Jake & Danny, my heart goes out to you both. Your mom was the most passionate and caring person I've ever know. She was like a sunflower, bursting with intelligence, wisdom, humor, and joy. I always loved the dresses she wore to church, because they displayed her personality with their bright & cheerful colors. Hold on to the joy, don't hold on to the negative. She was taken too soon, but she is without a doubt gloriously singing praises in heaven to Jesus. She will be greatly missed, but forever etched into the hearts and souls of those that knew and loved her. Keeping your families cloaked in prayers.

My heart aches for you Jake from State Farm. She raised you well and now you can go on honoring her by doing the things she taught you. She will be right by your side even in Heaven as she was for you here on earth. May God pour out his blessings on you and your family as you put her body to rest.
