Margaret Brinkmeier Obituary

MARGARET J. BRINKMEIER, 96 MINNEAPOLIS - Margaret J. Brinkmeier, 96, native of Freeport, IL, passed away on August 27, 2013, in Minnesota, where she has resided for the past 50 years. Born July 23, 1917, in Freeport to Michael and Sarah O'Connell. Preceded in death by husband, Ward; siblings, Gerald, Clifford, Donald, Virginia and Helen. Survived by children, Dr. Mary Margaret (Garry) Hoden, Janet, Mark and Dan Brinkmeier; grandchildren, Derek (Colleen) Hoden, Deirdre Hoden (Tyler) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brendan and Nick Hoden, Sarah Grace Johnson; many nieces, nephews and a loving extended family. Longtime employee of JC Penney. In her retirement years, Margaret enjoyed numerous hobbies including quilting, needlework and service to her church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of St. Alphonsus in Brooklyn Center, MN on Friday, August 30, 2013, at 7 p.m., with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Dear Mary, Janet and Dan, I have known your parents since I was a preteen. I use to baby sit for all of you, an am so sorry to hear of her passing. My husband Carl is your cousin, and of course Ward and Mary were his Aunt and uncle. Over the interium of time, we have all lost contact with each other. Know that we will be praying for you.
