To Mark and Tracy: I just learned of Bob's passing this morning from a former colleague at Gordon Parks. I wish I had known-I would have been at the visitation. I had the great honor and pleasure of working with your dad on the finances at Gordon Parks. He will be missed dearly. To AJ: I am sorry for your loss as well as I know you were a beloved companion. To Bob: thanks for taking me under your wing and teaching me the ins and outs of school finance. I will always remember your dedication to Gordon Parks, your love for friends and family, your unselfish spirit, and your positive attitude throughout. You always told me not to worry - I guess I haven't taken that advice yet but in your memory I will try :) May you rest in peace.

As a teenager, your dad and my brother, Bob Adkins, played basketball, baseball and hockey together.Bob would often come by our house before a game and share a second meal with us.They have remained dear friends for over 65 years. Our family loved and admired your dad...we have many fond memories of him.
I just learned through a Phi Delt email that you, Mike ,are married to Alan Hurst's daughter Jenny. My husband, Bruce Wenger, and Al were Phi Delts at K.U. together. Indeed, it is a small world.
Keep the memories of your dad alive in your family. He was an outstanding person, a very bright man and a kind, caring gentleman.

The two of us were fortunate enough to call Bob our dear friend since the 1950's when we were students at Central Missouri State in Warrensburg. We will miss him and his sense of humor.

The light is on,
the welcome mat is out.
The house looks familiar,
but who lives here??
I knock on the door;
laughter and light comes
from the windows.
It sounds like a party,
but then
the door opens and I look
into the eyes of a loving friend.
Here is a family member
whom I have known and loved
all my life.

“We have been awaiting your arrival.
I know it was hard for you to leave
the security of what you knew,
to join us.
You are loved here, too.
Welcome to your new home.”

Heaven has been here all the time.
Remember you saw glimpses of it
from a tired body on earth.
Now you have a new form and function.
Your memories are intact.

“Your place has been saved at my table.
Your loving family is here,
to enfold you.”

Fear has given way to understanding.
Trust has been rewarded.
