Debbie Starkey, 52, Holt Mo., died Thursday July 9, 2015, at Valley Manor Rehabilitation Center in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Born on June 11, 1963, in Kansas City, Mo., to James and Edith (Renno) Starkey. She was a graduate of Lathrop High School and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Debbie retired from Ford Motor Company after 16 years of service. Debbie was a member of the UAW Local 249. She was an avid softball player, and loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include brothers, Gary L. Gardner and wife Sandy of Weatherby Lake Mo., John R. Gardner and wife Kathy of Kansas City, and Troy D. Starkey and wife Gwen of Polo, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. Healing farewell will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Bailey Cox Funeral Home, Lathrop, Mo. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery Holt. The family will gather with friends one prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Lung Association.
