To Paul's family -
I went to St. Pat's with Paul and have not seen him for many years but I do keep in touch with Marcia Strauss and she told me of his passing.
I was sorry to hear of his passing. I remember many fun times with Paul and all the Marmion boys while we were at "the Mount".
In sympathy,

To Beverly, Marcia and Nancy, I share your grief. I offer my deepest sympathies to you and the family. Paul provided me with a life long friendship starting in grade school, continuing on through high school and beyond. Because my career required several relocations within the US, Paul would tell me his vacation would be spent with me. He never missed a year. We shared countless laughs, words of wisdom and an occassional argument. We shared meals that had to include oysters. We shared many varities of Lithuanian food. When I learned of Paul's cancer, I payed a visit to offer my support. He told me he would be OK, it was just a minor issue. I am amazed at how long he battled the minor issue and the perseverance he displayed in the process. I will miss our visits, time spent in the woodshop and the occassional prime rib dinner outings. I'm sure Paul's previous experience as an Emabassy Guard will be put to good use in God's world. My prayers are offered for your journey. May you rest in peace.

First of all, I want to offer my condolences to Paul's sisters, Beverly and Marcia and family and Nancy Olson who stood by Paul's side until the end. May they be comforted in their loss. I want to share these memories of Paul with you.
I first met Paul in grade school at St. Pat's. We attended Marmion together and spent so much of our youth together. When I married and moved away to Missouri, Paul visited and we established a routine that went on for many years. Along with Wally Kalaine, we took fishing trips to Texas and Tablerock Lake in Missouri. Paul loved Walleye fishing and Canada, and we went together many years. At the end of a long day, Paul and I would toast the day with one or two of his martoonies, a drink that he excelled at making.
There is more, much more, but I want to remember Paul and his heroic struggles with cancer, a battle that most of us would not have considered. Paul had a love for life and proved it through his suffering all those years. I can only hope that Paul served his time here on earth only to be greeted with open arms in heaven. I lift my martoonie to his memory. Farewell good buddy, until we meet again.
