Died: Aug. 26, 2015; in Aurora, IL
Corey Allan Briggs, age 46, of North Aurora, passed away surrounded by family Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Presence Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. Corey was born October 22, 1968 and raised in Batavia by his parents Larry and Carmen (nee Johnson) Briggs.
Corey actively served his community for over thirty years. With careers in both fire services and law enforcement services.
Corey is survived by his parents, Larry and Carmen; two children, Amanda Briggs, and Johnathan Briggs; and one sister, Shauna (Steve) Becker; two nephews, Chad (Samantha) Becker, Michael Becker; a niece, Sherry; and many dear friends.
In addition to his paternal grandparents, John (Florence) Briggs and Mae Briggs; and maternal grandparents, David and Svea Johnson; he is preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Ann Briggs.
Visitation will be held 9:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL At 12:30 P.M. the funeral will leave in procession to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 North 5th Avenue, St. Charles, IL to begin a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Mark Larson will officiate. Interment will follow the funeral at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia, IL.
