Thank you Kyra (in spirit) for introducing me to Russia (then the Soviet Union) and the Russian culture when I was a teenager in high school. I picked up your paperback bio on a summers day in a small variety store in an also small town in Ontario Canada, and immediately became engrossed in your life story up until that point. Rest In peace dear and treasured lady. Jane Burton

Over a year has passed since you left this earthly world, but you left behind so many wonderful memories to those who loved you. You made an impression on me as a teenager when I first read your autobiography. At the time I knew very little about your Russian homeland. Thank you for opening a whole new world of discovery about Russia which I have once again been exploring this Spring. Ive been learning about the Romanov family, Russian music & opera & the late modern but classic baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky & the Orthodox Church along with the Cyrillic alphabet & Russian history & geography. Thank you so much Kyra! ~~~ a Canadian fan

RIP KYRA ~ My sincere condolences to your family. I'm 74 and first learned of you as a high school student in about 1961 when I purchased your autobiography in paperback in the small town where I attended school.
I became an instant fan and appreciate what I learned about your life ~ Russian people and samovars.
Because of your writing and that of Dr. Zhivago/Boris Pasternak ~ I came to appreciate the Russian culture and people.
Thank you for that ~ with love and appreciation ~ Jane Burton
