Chelsea Ladd Memoriam

March 13, 1987 - March 28, 2021 Chelsea Allyn Ladd, 34, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 28, 2021. The daughter of Cindra Ladd and Alan Ladd, Jr., Chelsea attended The Center For Early Education, Harvard Westlake, New Roads, NYU and USC. She was a fierce Feminist, funny and bright and a wonderful writer. She loved vacationing in Hawaii and was committed to supporting LGBTQ causes and prison reform issues to which she donated both her time and energy. She was especially devoted to her two cats, Josie and Sabrina. Chelsea struggled with depression for many years and she fought valiantly to overcome the darkness. At the time of her death, she was in the process of organizing a new clearing house where people with mental health issues could call to get referrals to someone who could help depending on their specific needs. Besides her parents, Chelsea is survived by her three sisters, Kelliann Ladd (John Gatti), Tracy Ladd (David Hall) and Amanda Ladd Jones (Dan Jones) and six nieces and nephews. Due to Covid, there will be a private memorial.Chelsea will be forever in our hearts and profoundly missed. Because of Chelsea's strong interests, it is the family's wish that donations be made in Chelsea's name to either the Los Angeles LGBT Center (Donate.lalgbtcenter.org) or Equal Justice Initiative (Eji.org)

I met Chelsea at Beverly Hills High. She was always kind to me and made me laugh, despite the fact that we spent countless hours taking AP Exams in a windowless room year after year. My heart goes out to her family. Please accept my condolences.

A loving tribute to a passionate, caring, brilliant soul. I will miss working with Chelsea and the heartfelt discussions we had about all the concerns that she held so dear: politics, LGBTQ issues, climate change, prison reform and, of course, her wonderful cats (Josie was my all-time favorite feline and Chelsea knew that).

May you finally find peace, joy and the light that you so deserve, Chelsea. I will miss you. We all will miss you.
