Toni Brown Obituary

Toni Joy Brown died at her home in Los Angeles surrounded by family members, friends and two cats on March 19, 2015 from ALS. Toni grew up in Culver City, CA. She graduated from UCLA in 1976 with a BA in kinesiology. She began her career in the fitness industry as an aerobics instructor. She dedicated her life to being physically fit and helping others to love and have passion for working out and keeping their body and mind healthy. Throughout her illness Toni raised money and awareness for ALS. Toni will always be remembered for her strength and courage, her love and friendship, and for the indelible mark she left on all of us. Toni is survived by her son Noah, her siblings Lloyd and Patricia, and her two nieces Lauren and Carolyn. Donations in her honor can be made to alsa.org/goto/tonijoybrownmemorial.

I rowed with Toni at UCLA and was honored by her kind and gracious friendship. The hours we spent together on Women's crew are cherished memories. Her smile would light up a room. She was just one of those rare and special people who could try on a person's heart light.
