Allan was an art teacher at Bancroft Jr. High when I was a student, and we both moved to Fairfax High School at the same time.
Allan had retired by the time I became a teacher at Fairfax, but when I took over as Magnet Coordinator, he was always available for a consult. He was generous and insightful.
Allan had a special presence - warm, lively, graceful, and smart - with a highly evolved sense of humor.
The last time I saw him was when I retired. I will always cherish the photo of Allan and his (then) four successors as coordinator of the Fairfax Magnet Center for Visual Arts, which he founded and which tries to follow his spirit and principles to this day.
I'm very pleased to have known Allan Cameron.

I met Alan at social events related to the Fairfax Visual Arts Magnet while I was co-ordinator there. He was a delightful conversationalist and I was fortunate to chat with him about the special challenges and experiences of working for LAUSD and the magnet. The program he established there is a unique and very special one and thousands of students over the years have received a very wonderful high school education because of his vision. A very wonderful guy. I know you're still taking the high road, Allan!

We are very saddened to hear of the passing of our colleague and friend Allan Cameron.
We were fellow teachers at Fairfax High School and met with others at morning break in the Art Office on an almost daily basis to share ideas, gossip, and many laughs.
Later, we were professional colleagues again when he was the Fairfax magnet program coordinator and I was District coordinator. After retirement, we would meet for lunch from time to time to discuss a business venture that never really took off. But we ate well and laughed a lot.
Allan's ready smile and quick wit, especially when accompanied by his Scottish brogue, will be forever in our memories.
What a fun, humane, creative, and intelligent individual he was!
To his family go our heartfelt condolences on this sad occasion.

Mr. Cameron was one of my favorite teachers. He was understanding and hip. I had him for creative writing, and he was truly inspirational and encouraging. RIP Mr. Cameron
