Mark Cameron Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Brighton on Jan. 29, 2026.
Mark William Cameron, age 70, of Brighton, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Mark was born on August 9, 1955, to his devoted parents, William and Ruth Cameron. During his childhood, his family purchased property near Milford, where they built their home and created lasting memories. Mark graduated from Milford High School in 1973.

It was near the family home that Mark first met his childhood neighbor, Anne, when he was just 11 years old. Years later, the two reconnected in their twenties during a chance meeting at a bar, where Mark asked Anne to dance - a moment that would change their lives forever. They were married on May 16, 1981, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Milford and shared 44 years of love, partnership, and happiness together.

Mark and Anne raised two children, Rachel (Rob) and Derek (Julie), and Mark was especially proud to become a grandfather later in life. He cherished his grandchildren deeply and found great joy in time spent with them.

For most of his career, Mark worked as a mechanical engineer. He began working alongside his father, later went on to own his own business, MarCam, for a number of years and continued his work with dedication and integrity throughout his life.

An avid outdoorsman, Mark loved being in nature. He hunted and fished year-round and especially treasured the many hunting and fishing trips he shared with his son, Derek. He also held a special place in his heart for the family cabin in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, which he built alongside his brothers in his younger years - a place filled with laughter, hard work, and lifelong memories.

Above all else, Mark was a devoted family man and provider. His family was the most important thing in his life, and he will be remembered for his love, loyalty, and steady presence.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Cameron (Sevonty); his loving children, Rachel (Rob) Bell and Derek (Julie) Cameron; his cherished grandchildren, Gwenyth, Adelyn, Brendan, and Juniper; and his siblings, Mary Ann (Robert) John (Karen), Richard (Georgia), Jean (Randy), and David. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James (Cynthia) Cameron, and parents William and Ruth Cameron.

A Celebration of Mark's Life will be held at a later date.
