Ronald Schey Obituary

Ronald Bernard Schey passed away on January 20th, 2026 at Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. Ron was born to Reuben and Jeanette Schey in Columbus, Wisconsin in 1945. He attended Sacred Hearts grade school and graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1964.

Ron attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison then enlisted in the Air Force in 1965. He was stationed in Turkey, then served in Vietnam, an experience that meant a lot to him. Afterwards, he lived in Wisconsin, California, Missouri and Indiana, eventually retiring to Florida.

He developed a love for flying, obtained a pilot's license and completed aerobatic training, learning to do rolls and loops in a Stearman. A favorite pastime was attending the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh, where he knew the history and origins of many of the aircraft. Ron was also a Disney fan, knew all the Disney history and greatly enjoyed the parks.

He had an amusing and often irreverent sense of humor, which was alive and well to the end.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Corinne McNamee, granddaughters Alexandra and Hailey McNamee, siblings Judy (Russ) St. Clair, Pat (Russ) Fassbender, Bonnie Schey, Jim (Shawn) Schey and Mary Schey, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
