John (Johnny) Richard Schey age 90, Passed away peacefully Saturday October 25, in Merdian, Idaho.

He was born January 5, 1935, in Nampa, Idaho to George and Mary Louise Schey. John was raised there on the family farm south of Nampa with his 3 sisters and 3 brothers. He graduated from Kuna High School at the top of his class. After graduating he attended classes at Boise State College and worked for the United States Forest Service on a Road Survey crew before joining the Idaho Air National Guard in 1953.

John worked as a full-time civilian technician in the Air Guard for over 32 years where he attained the rank of Senior Master Sargeant. His career there included working as a Jet Engine Technician, Quality Control Inspector and Aircraft Crew Chief, retiring as Flight Line Chief.

John married Shirley Ann Henson May 18, 1957, in Winnemucca, Nevada and they began raising their family in Bosie, Idaho before moving to Meridian in 1964. Our family were very active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Boise, as members of Church Council, Choir and Youth groups, The entire family also enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling and exploring Idaho's great outdoors as well as traveling on many vacations and visits to relatives and friends all over the USA.

John and Shirley celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary together as a devoted, loving couple before her passing on December 8, 2022. John is survived by his sisters Donnabel Schlagel and Linda Jones, and brother Bill Schey, his 3 Children Garrell Schey, Tamara Rosandick and Rod Schey, 7 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.
