Lloyd Shipley Obituary

Lloyd Shipley, 100, of Hillsboro, formerly of Fillmore, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehab Center in Taylor Springs.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore, with the Rev. Michael Plummer officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Noffsinger Cemetery in Mulberry Grove. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Fillmore Baptist Church. Online condolences can be expressed at www.millerfh.net.
Mr. Shipley was born on Feb. 16, 1918, in Fayette County, the son of Russell and Goldie (Stublefield) Shipley. He married Lila Maralee (Mason) Walker on Aug. 5, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo.; she passed away on Jan. 31, 2013.
He was a mechanic, farmer, U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; member of Fillmore Baptist Church; and former member of American Legion Post No. 1180 of Mulberry Grove.
He is survived by a foster son, Joe M. Baugh of Bingham; foster daughter, Jessie P. Ward and Bob and Vandalia; daughter-in-law, Marcia Walker; half brother, Melvin Shipley and Ruth of Mulberry Grove; half sisters, Pansey Findley of Lockport, and Sue Hagler and John of Pocahontas; grandson, Robert D. "Robbie" D. Walker and Lisa of Greenville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; stepmother; stepson, Maurice Walker; sisters, Myrtle Widger and Elsie Root; brothers, Claude and Earl Shipley; and several half brothers and half sisters.
