1922 - 2018

JAFFREY - Charlotte Belletete, 95, of Jaffrey passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family, after a brief period of failing health.

She was born in Peterborough on August 16, 1922, daughter of the late George K. and Helen (Bayley) Egan. Charlotte completed her undergraduate education, graduating as Valedictorian of the Class of 1940 at Peterborough High School. For many years, Charlotte would spend the summers with her aunt in Plymouth, New Hampshire, a place that she loved. Charlotte moved to Jaffrey with her family in 1939 and would remain a lifelong resident. After graduating from high school, Charlotte worked for Dr. Fred Cournoyer, a dentist in Jaffrey and good friend of Reynold, with whom she would begin a courtship. In 1942, Charlotte entered the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Manchester, New Hampshire where she would graduate in 1945. After graduation and passage of the RN boards, she took a job in the operating room at Sacred Heart Hospital soon becoming Head Operating Room Nurse. Charlotte and Reynold were married on January 9, 1947. She continued to work in Manchester until her first child was born.

Charlotte was a devoted wife and mother. Her family, friends and Catholic faith were her priorities. She loved to cook and tend to her flowers. When she wasn't cooking or caring for her family and friends, Charlotte enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, reading and above all, time at the beach. She and Reynold spent many wonderful winters in Bonita Springs, Florida with cherished friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Reynolds.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 71 years, Reynold Belletete of Jaffrey; her two sons, John (Jack) Belletete and his wife, Marcea, and David Belletete and his wife, Nancy; and her daughter Anne and her husband, James Banghart, all of Jaffrey; her nine grandchildren; Sara Belletete of Jaffrey, Beth and her husband, Micheal Drzewiecki, of New Rochelle, New York, Lisa and her husband Brad Wilson of Nashua, New Hampshire, Jennifer and her husband Matthew Tobolski of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Courtney Banghart and her wife, Michele Dejuliis, of Pennington, New Jersey, James III and his wife Eve Banghart of Jaffrey and London, UK, Celia Belletete of Manchester, New Hampshire, Camille Belletete and Lillian Belletete both of Jaffrey; sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

At Charlotte's request there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Patrick Church, 89 Main Street, Jaffrey, NH at 11 a.m. of Friday, June 29, 2018. Rev William Deschamps will be the officiant. Burial will follow in the family lot at Conant Cemetery in Jaffrey.
