Ava Merchant Obituary
Mrs. Merchant, widow of Thomas W. Merchant, died Monday, February 22, 2010. Born in Saluda County, she was the daughter of the late James Harvey and Gana Minick Padget. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of First Baptist Church of West Columbia.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia Kay and Michael Painter of West Columbia, Marilyn Arlene and Terry Gay of Lexington; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Merchant was preceded in death by two sisters.

Marilyn, we are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Your Sunday School class will be praying for you and your family through this. I believe you said it right when we spoke on the telephone. We know where your mother is and are fully comforted in the knowledge that she has already seen Jesus. Much love, and we will look forward to seeing you back in church.
