Dear Tisdale family,
My name is Chris hopkins and I had the pleasure of knowing Roy from our youth and was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences and apologize for the delay yet just found out of his passing. Roy was as solid as they come during our youth and after reading of his accomplishments, family being the best, along with his distinguished military service, I just wanted to say I'm a better person for knowing him. RIP

I have known LTC Tisdale for aproxamently three years while serving in the 525th MI BDE at Fort Bragg NC. He was an outstanding leader and truly cared for the well-being of his troops. Sir, you are truly missed, and it was an honor to serve under you.

I have known LTC Tisdale since December of 2009. He was my battalion XO while I was a Platoon Leader, later my Brigade DCO, followed by my Battalion Commander as a Company XO. He demanded excellence and applied the pressure until excellence was achieved. He was fair to all of us and always said the things to help the light bulb turn on over our heads. Sir, you will be truly missed and I am very lucky to have served with you.

Dearest Kim, Megan and Lane,
We join with so many others who knew your father and husband in offering our deepest sympathy on his passing.
May you find peace and comfort in knowing that his loss is felt by all who knew and loved him. May Gods abiding love and unsurprising peace be intimately found.
In Sympathy,
Matthew Sevcik

I was lucky enough to have LTC Tisdale as a mentor and supervisor for two years while assigned to 1-38 CAV. He brought the best out of his soldiers, and he brought the best out in me. We use the word "tragic" too often, and don't understand what the word really means until we lose a hero like him. There are so many questions that will never be answered, but there's one thing we can all be sure of: we were damned lucky to have him as a leader. We'll see you again, some day, sir.

My name is CPT Tammi Summers, I worked for LTC Tisdale for a little while in Afghanistan from the little bit of interaction we had, I knew he truly cared about his job and developing young officers. He was one of the best in the BDE. So many people had a great amount of respect for him, and i wish i could have worked for him longer. He definitely talked about his family and his daughter a lot. My prayers are with you and your family.

Our hearts are broken. We have all lost a hero, but your family is faced with enduring the biggest loss, that of a husband, father, son, brother. Kim, as FRG leader, you made the separation from my husband easier, and all I can do in return for you and your family in this earthly separation from your husband is pray, and pray I will. God bless you all.

LTC Tisdale was unrivaled as a boss, Infantryman, mentor, and friend. I had the great honor of serving for and with him in combat and in peace. A man who greatly influenced my career, I would want no other in the foxhole next to me.
I pray for his family in this time of sorrow. We should all strive to be half the person he was. Geronimo!

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Tisdale Family. We were heartbroken when we received the tragic news of Roy's passing.
We spent many evenings on the Kelley Hill softball field with LT Roy and Kim while in D Co 2-18, 24th ID Ft. Benning GA. Those evenings are fondly remembered along with Roy's quick grin and sense of humor.
We pray Kim, Megan, Lane and the rest of Roy's family will find the strength for tomorrow in the love that surrounds them today.
