He was always supportive of the medical school library, named after him. Every time the library had a reception to celebrate a new service he took the time to come and support the library and its employees. A kind heart.

Dear Brenda and girls, so good to see his smiling face once again. One of my favorite memories were the Lebanese dinners that he bought tickets for once a year. I fell in love with Lebanese food because of them and even bought the mini Lebanese cookbook. He always gave the employees a 2-pound box of baklava each year for Christmas. I loved that. The first year we moved to Chicago in 1991 and had no baklava, it didn't feel like Christmas!! Just the other day, I was telling someone about my years with Wichita Surgical Group. I was blessed to be there for 14 years. Much love, LaVonne Ledell

I was so sorry to hear of Dr. George's passing. I am the niece of Anne Bass (Foster) who worked for Dr Farha. When I was 10 years old back in 1966 I severed my right arm in a glass storm door. Dr. Jim was called in that night to work on me in the ER. My parents were very concerned because he spoke very broken English and looked like he had been working in the yard that evening. We'll long story short I became the Farha Brother's little darling by being only 10 years old. Not only did they reattach my arm, ligaments and nerves but they gave me the chance of keeping my arm instead of amputating it. Both Dr.'s became very important to me during my recovery and throughout my childhood. What a great man as a doctor and a civic leader. Karen Frederick Lee

Brenda and Family, I can't help but continually think about Dr. George since I learned of his transition. He was so influential early in my career. I had the pleasure of working for the Wichita Surgical Group for 6 years before moving on to Kansas City. He and Dr. Jim were the ultimate examples of employers who not only took great care with all their patients but with their employees as well. I have never worked for anyone since that could measure up to WSG.
I owe so much to him for establishing outstanding work ethics and being a kind individual. His spirit will always be with us. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Dearest Brenda and girls - I went to bed last night with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart, having just learned of Dr. George's transition to heaven. There really are no adequate words, just feeble attempts to express our gratitude and sorrow and hope and prayers for those he left behind. I worked for him for 14 years as his receptionist and adored him. I was so proud to be a part of his group. Doctors, as you know, can have difficult personalities or split personalities. But not him - always a gentleman who never forgot where he came from and who valued his employees and helpers, whether at the hospital or the office. It was always great to get him and Dr. Jim to tell us stories. I loved our annual Christmas parties at Wichita Surgical Group and learned to love Lebanese food. He always gave us tickets to the annual fund raiser at the church and who can forget the 2 pounds of baklava at Christmas! When I first moved to Chicago 20 years ago, Christmas did not feel like Christmas until I went out and bought baklava. I was so happy to come back and celebrate his retirement and loved being able to meet him in Chicago when he was here for a surgical conference. I felt like I'd had an audience with king! And how wonderful that your were able to celebrate 53 years of marriage - what an awesome accomplishment! My prayers are with you as you learn to live without his daily presence. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Others leave footprints in our hearts and we are never the same. All my love and prayers - wish I could give you all a hug.

Brenda, daughters,Dr.Jim and family My heart is heavy right now. My Love and condolence are with you. Dr. George was truly a loving and kind person. At the hospital, there was no other Dr. like him. Everyone knew when Dr. George came to the unit, and the candid he had for his patients, spending the night with them after surgery to be sure everything went well. That's candid and special. He were truly a candid and special Dr. A special 'Thanks' to the Farha family for spoiling my mother, LOLA. Will call later. Love, Freda

January 12, 2014
When I worked at the hospital doing patient care, I would see Dr. George walking the halls, with his residents in tow, talking to them, with his arms a waving, as if showing them what he wanted and what he was talking about. I would see him in his patients rooms, telling his patients that he wanted and EXPECTED them to get better day by day, but with a gentle kindness because he knew that they hurt, were sick and scared. He could and would raise H with the nursing staff if he thought his patients wasn't getting the care he thought they needed and deserved. He always did have a kind word for the nursing staff when they were short-handed or having a rough day. He was a Doctor who cared about all the people he worked with, and for those who cared for his patients, but most of all, he cared about his patients and their lives, not just the ailment that brought them to see him that required the care and skill that he possessed. Thank you to Dr. George's family for sharing him with the people of KS., as you probably didn't see him as much as the people he worked with saw him, or the many patients his skill and care helped to save and make life better for them. Hold strongly in your hearts and minds the memory of him, a husband, father, a man whose skill as a Doctor, a teacher of the healing arts, and more, has touched the lives of everyone who knew him or ever heard of him.
May he rest in peace, and may GOD comfort, and guide Dr. George's family, friends, and all who's lives he touched, during their time of mourning. Celebrate the life he led, as his memory will live on in all that he has done.

To Brenda and the Farha Family,
We have lost a giant of a man who had a profound effect on many people. I am sure that I am not the only surgeon that when he comes to a difficult part of a case, hears Dr Farha speaking in his gravelly voice telling us what to do. Dear Brenda and family.
Memories of your dear husband and father for me go back to the days when I was a teenager at St. George and Dr. George came to Wichita to complete his studies. Even then his caring was evident. He was instrumental in my life as a physician to my father as well as to me. He was always supportive of the DUI Victim Center and was kind to me on every occasion of our meeting. I am sorry I was not able to be with you for the services this weekend - but please know you are all in my prayers for healing of the loss of this great man. I will always remember his kindness to me and will remember him in my prayers for the departed - always. May God bless you during this loss and keep you always in the shadow of His wings. May his memory be eternal. Love and Prayers - Always, In Christ, Mary Ann Khoury

To Brenda; daughters Gayle, Joan, Laura and Julie,
We are truly and deeply saddened at the falling asleep of beloved George and words fail us as we try to console you and comfort you.
Death is truly a mystery and when it comes, all things vanish utterly. Death knows no time or place and when it comes it leaves us feeling empty and sad.
However, we pray the Lord our God, who art in all places present and fillest all things and the creator of all will abide in you and your family to comfort your hearts and give you peace, strength and courage to carry on.
It was truly an honor for me to join His Eminence Metropolitan PHILIP and all of you this past year to honor Dr. George for all his great achievements with the medical field, his humanitarian work and the many years dedicated to this Archdiocese and the years spent on the Archdiocese Board of Trustees.
Yes we have lost a great man here in this life, but our Lord said, “He who believes in me and He who sent me shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” Let this be our anchor of hope to ease the pain of our loss.
These words are expressed to you on behalf of my assistants and myself
Dr. George will be remembered and prayed for this Sunday in the Divine Liturgy.

Dr. Farha performed a life-saving surgery on me when I was only 11 days old in December of 1981. I was told stories of what a wonderful man and surgeon he was by my family. While I never had the privilege of meeting him, there aren't many days that go by that I don't think of what he did for me. I was given little chance of survival and here I am 32 years later a very happy and healthy woman. God Bless Dr. Farha and his family for all that they have done for me, my family and others throughout the community. Thank you as I would not be here today with you Dr. Farha!

In June 1973, I met Dr. George after giving birth to a baby that had severe birth defects. Other doctors said she would not live to see her first birthday. However; it was Dr. George who crafted a surgical plan and a team to restore my baby to the best health that his skill would allow. Dr. George took her case and managed her surgical care plan all while carefully selecting the best surgical team to do the procedures over a number of years. Forty years later, my daughter lives and has a good quality of life. I am forever grateful.
Dr. George has been good to Wichita and will forever live on in the countless stories. I pray it gives you some comfort. I offer my sincere gratitude and sympathy as you mourn his passing. Dr. George completed his purpose on earth and has now received his reward. I shall always hold his memory in my heart.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. George's Family on the loss of a great man who I and my brothers had the honour and the pleasure to have know when we were students in Wichita in the late seventies.
Although we were foreign students from Lebanon he and his family made us feel not only at home but as members of their family.
In the eighties when my eldest daughter was born in Wichita my wife and I can not find the words to describe how we were received and embraced by Dr. George and Brenda during our stay with them.
He indeed enjoyed life as we all know , but his real joy was to see others happy .
Dear Uncle George on behalf of my family , my brothers , my friends and myself whom you touched with your kindness, generosity , wisdom and support we will sure miss you but your memory will always stay with us.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

He taught me a lot and everyday was like no other day when we did rounds. He was not only a skilled surgeon and a good teacher but someone who I believe truly enjoyed what he did.

Brenda and family:
My prayers and thoughts go to you at this time. Dr. Farha was so very important to my education. He was an amazing teacher and gifted surgeon. He was an amazing example for me and the other surgical residents he taught in his career. I'll never forget his dedication to family, medicine and his many gifts to the community.
Thinking of you in this time of grief.

Dear Brenda, Gayle, Joan, Laura, and Julie,
We're so sorry for the loss of your beloved husband and father, Dr. George. My own memories of him are still vivid, either gazing up at this warm smiling doctor from my hospital bed in 1976, feeling profound confidence as an 11 year old that I was in the very best of hands, or later seeing him glowing and proud, surrounded by the beautiful women in his life---his family. His great legacy lives on in all of you and in his grandchildren, and in all the many many souls he touched over the course of his well-lived life. Sending you our deepest sympathy and condolences, Lisa Neuburger and Family

Our most sincerest condolences to Brenda and all of the Farha family. We were just thinking that we have been a small part of the extended Farha Family for over half our lives. We are honored to have known such a classic gentlemen and good man and the great Farha family. It is one of the true blessings the Lord has bestowed on us. And that's not just because of all the Shocker basketball tickets I have received over the years.
God Bless and Comfort you all.

My heart is heavy at the passing of Dr.George. I have had the privilege of working for him for 13 years before his retirement. What a great man!! Dr. George was the most professional and yet caring to his patients and his staff. I am so proud to have known him and so respected him. My deepest sympathies go out to his beloved wife Brenda and of course his children, grandchildren and his
extended family. May fond memories sustain you during this difficult time.
Love,
