Matthew Bevilaqua Obituary

BEVILAQUA, Matthew Matthew Newton Bevilaqua passed away on February 20, 2015. Born on June 9, 1983, Matt was a resident of Atlanta, GA. As a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America and a certified gemologist, he was living his lifetime dream as a jeweler employed by Solomon Brothers Fine Jewelry. Matt was also a graduate of Ben Franklin Academy in Atlanta and attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL and Prescott College in Prescott, AZ. Matt is survived by his mother, Jan Newton Miller of Key Largo, FL, his father, John Bevilaqua of Atlanta, GA, his brother and sister-in-law, John Paul and Sommerville Bevilaqua of Asheville, NC, and his paternal grandmother, Josephine Bevilaqua of Chattanooga, TN. He is the grandson of John and Virginia Newton of Griffin, GA. Matthew lived a full life and traveled extensively. He loved the outdoors, music and Mexican food. He was a spiritual person with a loving heart. Matt's smile and magnetic personality allowed him to make many friends and he valued them highly throughout his life. He brightened any room that he entered. Matt maintained an active lifestyle as an avid cyclist and weight lifter. Matthew's life was celebrated and honored at a family service at Oak Hill cemetery in Griffin on Tuesday, February 24.
