Alma F. (Leggett) Grimes

Alma Grimes, 77, of Minerva, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2004, from complications following surgery. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Rosamond (Kincade) Leggett of Carrollton. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Pete, who will miss her dearly. Alma is also survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Bob) Parenti of Uniontown, who will be eternally grateful for her wisdom, love, and understanding. She is also survived by granddaughters, Ashley and Amber Parenti, the lights of her life, who will always cherish her love, guidance, and support. Alma's sisters Virginia (Phil) Swanberg of Hendersonville, NC, Shirley Smalley of Leesville, brother Paul (Donna) Leggett of Columbus, and sister-in-law Midge Leggett of Wooster will also carry her memory forever in their hearts. Also surviving are in-laws Jerry (Donna) Grimes, Joe (Shirley) Grimes of Minerva, Jean Ferguson of Alliance and Curtis Johnson of Texas, whose devotion and love are greatly appreciated. Alma was preceded in death by brothers Harry and wife, Dottie, Denny and wife Peggy, Donnie, Leonard, and sister, Norma and husband Ted Worthington, brother-in-law Jim Smalley, sisters-in-law, Mildred Johnson and Bettie Weaver, and brother-in-law Richie Grimes. Alma is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and devoted friends who have shared in her love during her special lifetime.

A celebration of Alma's life will be on Wednesday, February 25, at 11:00 AM, at the First Christian Church of Minerva, 300 W. Lincoln Way, Minerva with the Rev. Ralph Norman officiating. Burial will be in East lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 24, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the First Christian Church. Donations may be made to the Grimes Scholarship Fund, c/o Bonnie Parenti, or to a favorite charity. The Bartley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
