Francis J. Murray

Francis J. Murray, 81, of Evanston, Ill., died Tuesday at the Midwest Palliative Hospice and Care Center, Glenview Ill. His wife is the former Ann Coffey . He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Lorayne Kielar, of Simpson.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Francis and Sadie Kelly Murray. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an attorney, practicing in the state of Illinois. He was a devoted grandfather and loving father.

Also surviving are five children, Francis J. Murray III and wife, Ann, Cranford, N.J.; Patricia Murray and husband, Mario Calderon, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Carolyn Oelker and husband, Timothy, Aurora, Ill.; Annlizbeth Murray, Joliet, Ill.; and Anthony J. Murray, San Francisco; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Patrick and Francis IV "Rory" Murray; Lauren and Brandon Calderon; Monica and Nelson Oelker; a sister, Sally Nolan and husband, John; Denver; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Anna Marie and John Berry.

The funeral will be Monday from the Brennan and Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, to be celebrated by the Rev. William Campbell. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
