Debra Candelaria Obituary

Debra Lynn Candelaria

July 31, 1959 - August 18, 2021

Debra Lynn Candelaria (Debbie, Deb, Nina, Debbie Lou), 62, of Lompoc entered into Eternal Life with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on August 18th.

Born on July 31, 1959 in Albuquerque New Mexico to loving parents Jose Meliton and Oralia (Joe and Sam), Debbie filled the lives of those around her with joy. A local, Debbie graduated high school from Cabrillo and went on to pursue her interests, which ultimately led her to own and operate The Alley Cat, an artisan shop in Solvang. A staple of the Solvang and valley community, there were few who didnt know and love Debbie. A Christian woman of faith, Debbie had a passion for giving her time and service to others. She was a proud member of the Children's Ministry at The Village Chapel, a bookkeeper, and an avid animal (especially cat) lover.

Debbie was blessed with a large and loving family. Debbie, known simply as Nina to her nieces and nephews, was a loving aunt to Tony, Samantha, Kevin, Heather, Bryce, Christopher, Breanna, James, Ashley, and Ryan. She was a proud great aunt to Maylee, Jayce, Nolan, Lily, Rylan, Colton, Kyler, and Declan. Her presence is sorely missed and her loss is deeply felt.

Debbie is predeceased by her parents Joe and Sam, brother Thomas, sister-in-law Carol, sister Annita Louise, and brother Richard. She is survived by her brother Steven, sister-in-law Terry, both of Chula Vista, and brother-in-law Fred of Clinton, Tennessee.

We request all of Debbie's loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at The Village Chapel in Lompoc on Thursday, August 26 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Village Chapel at 3915 Constellation Rd, Lompoc, CA 93436.

Debbie and family, I have just learned this sad news. We were best friends in 6th, 7th and 8th grade and I will never forget you. We had so much fun in those years walking to baseball games, and hanging out together. I will never forget when your sister and her boyfriend took us to the movies with them to see Night of the Living Dead, and then I slept over. I even went to their wedding I think that same year on base. We went together with your Mom. I loved your parents who were so kind and allowed me to come stay with you for a few weeks one summer after my Dad was transferred to another base with the Air Force. Rest in Peace my friend.
