Our community has lost a great man, noble firefighter, trainer and friend. David loved his family and his department dearly and will forever watch over his firefighters and our community with God's grace. He truly made a difference!

Christy, William, Georgia, and Zoey: David has left a large hole in the community. You can take solace in the works and deeds that he accomplished in his short time on Earth. He fought hard and long to beat this But God had bigger plans for him and called him home. The sad part is we are left to wonder why this came about. Please know we are praying for all of you in the days and months to come and hope you find Peace and Comfort in the memories that you have and can never be taken from you. May God bless and grant you Peace!!!

Nothing gold can stay.
David was a truly unique person. He never met a stranger. He was always there for you even after he got sick. This community lost a true hero. Not many men left like him.
My heart goes out to his wife and family and friends. Also to he fire department family as well as us, his EMS family.
The poem I posted will always remind me of David. He was gold.

David was the kind of guy you instantly liked. When he smiled his whole face smiled. I will always remember his friendliness and willingness to help. I respected him as a firefighter and as a friend. I will miss him. My prayers and deepest sympathy for his family.

To David's Family, I did not know David and I had only met him on a couple of occasions with my father, Charlie Maglinger. My Dad is a retired fireman, age 82, and he thought the world of David. Dad has lost a lot of friends over the years but David's death has had a profound effect on him. I think his passing has bothered him as much as anyone's. Throughout David's illness and passing, my Dad has talked about him numerous times and continues to do so. Dad is a part of the Dee's Diner retired breakfast group on Fridays, and he was so happy when David could make it. David must've been an amazing man and obviously loved by many. My Dad does not have a computer, so I send these condolences on his behalf. May David's family find comfort and peace from the Lord above during this most difficult time. May it bring you smiles during this time of tears in knowing that David has been restored to perfect health once again, and that you will meet again, one day. God Bless

It is hard to put into words what I am feeling now. My Heart is heavy for you and your family. As you know, I have known your entire family for all our lives. David did a lot of good the short time he was here on this Earth. I saw him the day he came into this world and now I see him leave. But now I know he is going to a far better place. He shall not suffer any longer. There will be no pain or sorrow. Family, if there is EVER ANYTHING I can do for you, you KNOW all you have to do is ask. All of you have always been in my prayers and shall stay there. I love all of you.

Am so very sorry for your and all of our loss. As you know, David was not only a friend, but my Brother. I saw him the day he came into this world, now I see him leave for a better place. We are only for a very short time. But David made good use of the time he had. May you find comfort in knowing he has gone to a better place, and know in your Heart you will see him again. As you know, I have known all of your family for our entire life. If I can help in any way................. know that I am here for you. So many thoughts ........... so many tears. David was such a genuinely kind-hearted person with an honest and generous soul. He always had a smile and something nice to say about everyone. His loss is deeply saddening and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

All my prayers for the McCrady Family. I was honored to get to know David 8 years ago. He was a great help and dear friend. I enjoyed the many training activities we participated in taught by Chief McCrady. He will truly be missed.

Christy...I'm so sorry! David was much loved and respected by anyone that knew him. I always loved him to pieces when I worked at the FD, and even after when they took us away from there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. I just can't believe he's gone and will be sorely missed.
