Edward Frechette Obituary

Edward A. Frechette
of Dracut, U.S. Coast Guard Vet; 74

DRACUT, MA -- Edward A. Frechette, 74, passed away in his Dracut home on Thursday, August 11, 2016, with his loving family at his side. He was married to Lorraine (Normandin) Frechette with whom he would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on October 27.

He was born in Lowell, May 14, 1942 to the late Veronica (Sosnowy) (Chyzewski) Frechette and the late Joseph Chyzewski.

He was also a stepson to the late Leo Frechette.

Ed joined the U.S. Coast Guard directly after graduating from Dracut High School. He served aboard the USCGC East Wind, on the first time a Coast Guard Icebreaker sailed around the world.

He was employed at Burlington Dodge in Burlington, MA as a Parts Manager for over 30 years. His hard work and dedication to his job resulted in many prizes and trips awarded to him for his efforts.

He was a great fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He enjoyed his weekly cribbage games with Ed, Horst and Moe. In the summer, he looked forward to vacationing at his beach house in Maine with his entire family. He was a gentle, caring person and a true family man.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Lynne Reilly of Dracut, Jill Frechette of Nashua, NH, and Jodie Voutselas and her husband, Arthur of Tyngsboro; two grandaughters, Kristy Reilly and Heather Reilly of Dracut; two grandsons, Joseph Voutselas and Anthony Voutselas of Tyngsboro; and one great-grandson, William Mack of Dracut. He is also survived by his sister, Rosalie Lussier and her husband, Al; his brothers, Don Frechette, Leo (Butch) Frechette and his wife, Muriel and Ron Frechette and his wife, Sue; as well as many nieces and nephews.

FRECHETTE -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. on MONDAY, August 15th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His funeral will take place from the funeral home at 7:45 a.m. on TUESDAY with his funeral Mass to follow at 9 a.m. at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Burial in Richardson Cemetery, also in Dracut.
