William H. Fligg passed away peacefully at the Charles Dean Hospital in Greenville, Maine on Monday, May 10, 2021, following a brief illness.
He was born in Lowell on August 19, 1943, a son of William L. Fligg and Laurette (Deschenes) Fligg. He was educated in the Dracut School System. For over 40 years, Bill worked for the Lowell Sun, starting out on delivery trucks and retiring as a pressman.
After retiring, Bill moved to Maine where he loved hunting and fishing and the peacefulness and nature of his home.
Besides his longtime partner of 46 years, Ruth Tanguay, Bill is survived by his two brothers, Donald Fligg of Princeton, MA and Kenneth Fligg of Pelham, NH; his three sisters, Elaine Plourde, Pamela Kilmasewski, and Doreen Bergin all of Dracut, MA.
He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Bill's wish was to be cremated and laid to rest in Maine. A Memorial Mass will be held locally at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844 or at www.mspca.org
