Elinor Adams Obituary

Elinor Louise (Bohnet) Adams Lansing, MI Elinor "has gone to her great reward" as she would say on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. She followed her daughter, Diane Childs and her husband, Gale, both of whom she dearly missed. Her beloved brother, Ronald Bohnet, led the way by just 8 days. Elinor loved life. She enjoyed watching and naming the birds, who came to her feeders; a good joke; great conversations with friends at the Moose Lodge in Kalkaska; her summers at the cottage on the Big Manistee River and the friends she knew there; a good game of Euchre with her family; and a reading of the daily obits, to make sure she wasn't in there yet. Elinor was born, raised and lived her entire life in Lansing, when she wasn't up-north or accompanying her husband on business trips. She graduated from Central High School and worked as bookkeeper/secretary for her father's store, Bohnet Electric Co. Surviving are: a daughter, Lisa Gorman; granddaughters, Christina (Philip) Massuch and Colleen (Steven) Egleston; great-grandson, Alexander Jared Egleston; sisters-in-law, Evelyn "Wody" Bohnet and Stella Millard; brothers-in-law, George Adams and Mark Adams; nephews, Patrick (Kathy Fosnight) Bohnet, Michael (Vicki) Bohnet and Steven (David Gregware) Bohnet; and extra special extended family, Noel and Cindy Bartley and girls and Tom and Pat Biergans. The family would like to thank neighbors, Wayne, Heidi and Brian, and Fred and Jane for their assistance and care over the last 2 years. Special thanks goes to Eaton Community Hospice for their wonderful compassion and care as Elinor's spirit left her body. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Memorials and tributes can be made to the Eaton County Humane Society or Eaton Community Hospice in Elinor's name.
