Rusty was quite a guy. I met him in Jan. 1983 about a week after I was sworn in as a State Representative from Cobb County. He introduce himself to me around the third day of the session and ask me to help him with a little ole bill in the Health and Ecology committee. The bill was a scope of practice bill for the Chiropractors versus the Medical Association of Georgia. My campaign manager was a Chiropractor, anyway we discuss the bill, which died in subcommittee, which I didn't support. Rusty was one heck of a lobbyist and worked hard for his clients, MAG etc. and we got along on most of his issues because he never lied to me. We stayed in touch for those 10 years of my service and a few years after. I was so happy that he ran and was elected to represent the fine folks of Milledgeville just like his dad did while he served in the legislature. I am so sorry for the lost of Rusty. I know he will be missed by all that knew him. Sleep well my friend.
