Sheila Sayer Obituary

Sheila Curry Sayer age 71, died unexpectedly at her home in Wayne, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, September 28th. She is survived by her children Sara Browning, Suzy Bloom Wittman, Michael Curry Bloom and her grandchildren Hannah and Mallory Wittman, and Sam Browning. She is predeceased by her second husband John Sayer. An only child, Sheila Curry was born to Kathryn Bland Curry and James Martin Curry of Kings Point, New York in 1940. She attended Our Lady of Mercy High School on Long Island and in 1961 graduated from Regis College in Massachusetts, where she majored in business. From 1962 to 1965, Sheila worked for the World's Fair Corporation, first as a Secretary to New York's "Master Builder" Robert Moses, and later to executive General William E. Potter. She was instrumental in the planning and execution of the 1964 World's Fair in Queens, NY. She raised her family in the Pocono mountains community of Hemlock Farms, where she volunteered for the local Fire & Rescue company as an EMT, and was a member of the Lords Valley Country Club. In 1985 she was elected as the first female President of the Hemlock Farms Community Association Board of Directors. Sheila worked in sales for many years, including at the Main Line clothing boutique Evelyn McGill in Bryn Mawr and later at the Neighborhood League Shops in Wayne, PA. She will be missed by many but especially her family, her best friend Hazel Murphy, and her beloved Gizmo. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday October 29th from 2 - 3:30 PM in the Parish Center of St. Katharine of Siena Catholic Church in Wayne.

Suzy.....although I never met your Mother, she must have been one heck of a woman. One thing I know for sure, she has a most amazing daughter, of whom I think the world. My deepest sympathy to you & your family.....xxx's
